Happy New Year from Rezmoto

As we ring in 2012, I am reminded of one of my favorite New Years quotes…

“New Year’s is a harmless annual institution, of no particular use to anybody save as a scapegoat for promiscuous drunks, and friendly calls and humbug resolutions.” – Mark Twain

Ah the hell with Mark Twain. I’m pretty sure Spielberg never adapted any of his books anyway, so how good could he have been. On behalf of everyone here at Rezmoto, I would like to wish you and your friends and family a Happy and a Healthy New Year.

Cheers, and Drive safe!

Lego VW Camper Van

For all of you who once spent hundreds of hours as kids building anything and everything out of Lego, there may be one more kit you will want for Christmas. For this holiday season Lego will be releasing a limited edition VW Camper Van model with all the classic bells and whistles of the actual car. Classic two tone red and white, check. pop-top camper, check. And hippie memorabilia, check. It has everything you would expect to find in a sixties VW bus just miniaturized in tiny brick form. All-in-all a solid model that is perfect for any Volkswagen fan who once had a love affair with Legos. Now the question is who will figure out how to slam it?

Night Drift

It seems that every few weeks I’m back on here posting a new Drifting video from Eastern Europe, and this week is no exception. Although they may not have the budgets of a Ken Block or Tanner Faust, the cars they run are dope and the videography tops anything I have seen out of the states. This video comes out of Warsaw, Poland covering an event called Night Drift that can only be described as the Fast and the Furious brought to life. Night Drift gives off a cool vibe of legal underground racing that I think the U.S. could definitely use.

Eurotuner Mention!

(Source: Euro Tuner)

Print magazine Euro Tuner ran an article about V2Labs Big Meat, and it looks like everyone’s favorite gear logo made it into the pictures. The 2003 VW Jetta GLS featured in Volume 1 Issue 2 was rocking a huge gun metal gear logo  on the hood. Sick! The article also mentioned our presence as one of the groups covering the event. Be sure to read the next issue of Rezmoto to learn all about V2 Labs Big Meat in Orlando, FL. On the same page happens to be a big list of all the things going on this summer in the euro-auto community. A very useful list if you’re planning a trip this summer. Check and see if you can hit up any of these great events, we’ll be at a bunch of them. Thanks to Euro Tuner for showing some love for E-Zines.

Croftgate USA Waterless Car Cleaner

Have you ever wanted to clean your car but didn’t have access to a hose to wash it off? I know I have, living in an apartment, and it’s horrible watching your car collecting dirt and grime day after day. Now there is a solution with Croftgate USA waterless car cleaning kit ($61) which will allow you to do a full wash, wax, and tire cleaning without a drop of water. The wash is a two step process; First, the wash with the waterless car wash which breaks down and suspends the dirt to be removed with a cloth, while at the same time leaving a layer of macro polymers and waxes to give your car the nice clean look. Second, a pass with the waterless Quick-N-Slick will leave your car with an extreme brilliant shine almost instantly, and will continue to cure for the next 24 hours for a solid layer of protection from road dust. To bring it all together the Tire Shine and Wheel Cleaner has a industry leading mix of emollients and gloss agents to leave your wheels with a perfect shine. The whole process takes less time then conventional cleaning methods because you don’t have to deal with getting out a hose and bucket and there is no drying off the car in between each step. It just  produces better results. Still not convinced? Well, for the price of two coffees from Starbucks, you can have the Croftgate USA Sample Kit ($15) which has enough solution to wash your car a few times and see the outstanding results for yourself. Available at RezolutionMotoring.com you now don’t have an excuse for not washing your car.

Audi Dealership Owner at 19

Can you imagine becoming the owner of a car dealership at 19, and a Audi/Lamborghini dealership no less? I know I can’t, but Brett David now 23 took the rains of his father’s dealership after a tragic accident and grew Prestige Imports into the most successful dealership in the country. Automotive News has the full interview up on their site now.

(Source: Automotive News)

The top-selling Audi dealer in the United States is 23 years old — and he has been running the business since he was 19.

His name is Brett David, a wunderkind who took over Prestige Imports of Miami in 2007 after a tragedy.

David inherited the business when his father and automotive mentor, Irv David, died unexpectedly of a fourth heart attack at age 56.

He almost didn’t get the chance. Some people around him thought he was too young for the responsibility.

And in a letter penned just six months before his death, Irv David instructed Brett to sell the dealership because of the strain it would cause. The letter was delivered to Brett after his father’s death.

“My father said it was the stress of the business that had killed him,” said Brett, who will be 24 next month. “He wanted me to sell the dealership.”

That was one wish Brett said he couldn’t honor. Given his concern for employees, his vision for the store and a streak of rebelliousness that manifested itself early in life, Brett David had to give it a go.
