“The Look”
There is a defining, common, distinctive element found in certain projects that propel them beyond the norm. I’m going to call it “The Look,” and this exercise will be an exploration to find out if we can discover the common denominators and pinpoint what “The Look” is. Our first subject happens to be a very memorable one for me, mainly because I’m impartial to the B7 Audi platform.
1sicknickel’s white B7 A4 Avant, seen here on the Audizine forums , pushes the boundaries in detail. Tight integrated use of carbon material supports the white space and lends contrast to the palette. The theme works exceptionally well with the Vorsteiner Hood. This ride definitely sets itself apart from the crowd. By going the OEM+ route with the installation of a 25th Anniversary/DTM front bumper, 1sicknickel’s B7 shows homage to Quattro Gmbh wearing the carbon front splitter with pride. The finalized look with the completion of the grills for the front bumper should be sick! Nice touch with the match painted side-markers.
Super clean and properly balanced are the bi-color of the black faced, white-rimmed jewels [please chime in if you know what type wheels these are]. These wheels look absolutely phenomenal and sit perfectly in the wheel wells. I’m sure 1sicknickel spent some time adjusting the coilovers to get that perfect rake and height.
Yellow Brembo calipers peek from behind the mesh of the front rims hugging the cross-drilled rotors. Some serious stopping hardware. The only other yellow you will find on the Audi is the slight tint application of the main lighting gear. There will be some out there who will not like the application, but I think it’s that extra mile of detail that give this ride something special.
Bravo 1sicknickel. Job well done.
