DEA Seize a Collection of Dream Cars

It looks like a scene out out of Fast and the Furious, tens of exotic and muscle cars being seized by the DEA all at once. YouTube user Speedracer38 happened to catch this scene on his work and decided to take a few minutes to film the whole thing go down. Further investigation from Autoblog believes these cars to be part of the arrest of 22 people involved in the illegal distribution of prescription medication at “rogue pain clinics” in Florida. In total $2.2 million dollars and 70 cars were seized, assuming this video has to do with the same scandal.

The collection is massive featuring a plethora of Lamborghinis, a few Dodge Vipers, and Mustangs new and old just to name a few. According to the comments some of the notable cars not shown include “a Mercedes Benz SLR McLaren Roadster, Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR, Diablo Roadster, and a Rolls Royce Drophead.” It’s unfortunate all these cars were bought with dirty money and will be taken off the street. On the bright side, if you live in Florida keep on the look out for when this collection of seized dream cars goes up on a DEA property auction.

Lamborghini Aventador Spotted in Cali

(Source: YouTube)

The Lamborghini Aventador was the hottest car at Geneva and now it was spotted in the California desert shooting a commercial. Edmunds inside line has put up a video behind the scenes of the filming. Watching the Aventador  rip around the desert is impressive and I’m sure will look even better after its edited by Lamborghini’s crew. On top of a video, some guys over at Worldcarfans.com spotted the Lamborghini on a California highway. The picture shows a cop car in it too, which means its either part of the commercial, or someone got a little carried away. Be sure to check back here to see the full commercial when it comes out, but for now check out the pictures and video of the Lamborghini Aventador spotted in California.

Rezmoto Geneva Roundup: Production Cars

With the Geneva Motor Show coming to a close we’re going to talk about the solid new cars that were revealed this year in Rezmoto’s Geneva Roundup. We’re going to do this in two parts counting the top 5 best production and concept cars that were unveiled at the show.

Top 5 Best Production Cars

(Source: Koenigsegg)

1. Koenigsegg Agera R

This beauty is number one on our list for a few reasons. The engine is outrageous with 1,115 HP 885 lb-ft of torque. It looks like a hot wheels car we all played with as kids. And for a supercar it’s practical with a nice big aerodynamic roof rack. Really it has everything you would want in a supercar to hit the top spot on our list.

2.Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

Lamborghini’s successor to the Gallardo is just as we all expected, a faster more finely tuned car. It has the classic edgy lines that give a Lamborghini its identity and the power to match hitting 60 in 2.9 seconds. What is there not to like?

3. Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Estate

We had to put up at least one wagon in the top 3 or we wouldn’t be a euro blog. As far as wagons go this is one of the hottest. Putting out 481 hp on the proven C63 AMG platform can only be a good thing. Throw in a sick set of wheels and you have our number three production car of Geneva.

4. Brabus 700 Biturbo SLS Amg

The Brabus 700 Biturbo is an amazing example of aftermarket tuning done right. The subtle body kit and custom wheels tell you this car is not the “run of the mill” SLS AMG, but it doesn’t hit you over the head with it. The engine is tuned beyond belief with a top speed of 213 mph. Brabus did well with this one.

5. Audi RS3 Sportback

Another new sport hatchback for 2012 and a new addition to Audi’s RS line that will be replacing the classic RS4, how could this go wrong? 0-62 in 4.6 seconds makes it a bit slower than the Merc but it does cost less. However, there is some bad news that dropped it to the number 5 spot. Audi has not clarified if this RS will come to the U.S.; However, for the European readers it will be on sale in the first half of 2011

Movie Cars

Two weeks ago I went to the Concours d’Elegance in Boca Raton, Florida, and saw one of my favorite movie cars of all time. At the show I saw the Lamborghini Countach from the intro to the classic 1981 Burt Reynolds film The Cannonball Run. Upon my initial look, I saw the ridiculous 12 exhaust pipes and hood spoiler that were added to the car.. As soon as I realized where this car was from I got excited. There was a strange connection I felt because after seeing the car in the movie so many times.  What impressed me the most was the perfect condition the car was kept in. Everything from the tan leather interior to the polished wheels was pristine, as if it was filmed yesterday.  Although there were other cars that were much more expensive or better kept, this was definitely my car of the show. So this poses the question; What is your favorite movie car? Post your answer in the comments section below or on our Facebook page.

Destroyed Gallardo

A Chinese Gallardo owner got a little pissed with Lamborghini’s customer service department, so he destroyed the car. Apparently this guy owned the car for six months and had some major service problems. The straw that broke the Cammel’s back was when the car wouldn’t start. Then as it was towed to the shop, something else broke on the way. Things escalated to the point where the owner felt he needed to contact Lamborghini’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann about the issue. The owner got no response. Instead of selling the car like most reasonable people, he decided to hire a wrecking crew to beat the crap out of the car publicly. This was designed to make the statement that Chinese Lamborghini owners are not getting the same level of customer service that owners in the rest of the world do. Not owning a Lamborghini I personally can’t speak for their customer service, but I feel like this is just one unlucky customer. If not, after this little stunt I’m sure service will get better. Checkout the video below if you want to see a $230,000 Gallardo get destroyed.

Aventador Sound.

It seems that a video of the Aventador having its engine revved has leaked onto the internet and the sound is underwhelming. I was expecting a deeper, throaty more intimidating sound out of the Aventador. This clip is a bit of a disappointment. However, it does bring up a very interesting question. Where in the world are there three Aventadors parked next to each other outside? If you have any ideas, comment and let us know. Hopefully, we will see an aftermarket exhaust out soon to correct this little sound problem.

Lamborghini Aventador Configurator

We here at Rezmoto love car configurators, and there is no better new car to configure right now than a Lamborghini Aventador. Well except maybe a Koenigsegg Agrea, but that’s not the point. The point is how much fun these things are to play with. Sure, I will probably never own either one of those cars, but it’s the child like fantasy of standing in the show room with every option in front you that make these things so fun. You can mix and match anything you want from the classy to the crazy. With that said the Aventador configurator is a bit limited. All you can choose is interior or exterior colors along with a few options. The Veyron editor we talked about a few months ago has a lot more options. Along with the Lamborghini Aventador configurator here, we’ll list a few others below.

Novitec Rosso

Volkswagen GTI

Audi R8
