Lamborghini Aventador Video Review

Autocar hald the privilege of being one of the first to do a video review of the Lamborghini Aventador. This would normally be nothing too special just the presenter talking about how fast, loud, and awesome the new Lamborghini is. And for the most part that is exactly what this video does, but the day they took out this raging bull the track was soaking wet. So as you would expect this lead to some pretty epic drifts, making this video review of the Lamborghini Aventador something special.

Oakley Design Lamborghini Aventador LP760-2

(Source: Autoblog)

The race to be first is always important, and Oakley Design has won the race to tune the Aventador. They call it the LP760-2; meaning that it has been upped from 700 to 760 horsepower, and all that power goes to the rear wheels instead of all four. The power increase comes from a few subtle changes, an ECU remap, larger intake, and titanium exhaust system. Partnered with HRE Wheels, Oakley Design had their own 20-inch wheel made to replace the stock 19′s. In the aerodynamics department some of the air vents have been widened, a new deeper diffuser was added, and the mirrors are now housed in carbon fiber. Oakley Design will only build five Aventadors with the full package, but if you want any of the individual parts they will all be sold separately. Overall, the Oakly Design Lamborghini Aventador LP760-2 is a solid package that keeps the essence of the Aventador but has the power boost and aesthetic changes that sets it apart from the norm.

Lamborghini Sesta Elemento Announcement

(Source: Autoblog)

Lamborghini first showed off the Sesta Elemento at the Paris Motor Show last year. This beast will be the next limited run car, like the Reventon was in 2008. The supercar will have a weight of only 2,200 pounds and be powered by the Gallardo’s 5.2-liter V10, then tuned for some extra power. This will make the Sesto Elemento go from 0-62 in 2.5 seconds which is .4 seconds faster than the Aventador released earlier this year. These .4 seconds come at a very high price of 2 million euros (2.8 million dollars), but that will put you in quite an exclusive group. Lamborghini has said, like the Reventon they will only produce 20 examples of their new super car. Although, rumor has it, the Sesta Elemento will be limited to the just track because of homologation procedures for road use that would drive the cost up even higher (crazy right?). So, it would seem that 20 may be just the right number of people who would be willing to spend 2.8 million on the Sesto Elemento, because most people who buy a Lamborghini want to take it out on the street.

Aventador’s in Rome

That’s right, Lamborghini has posted two videos of the Aventador in its natural habitat, the streets and mountains of Rome. This whole Aventador commercial series is becoming quite the tease. All the videos so far are amazing and make me like the Aventador more and more. Really, there is not much more to say, look below for two videos of the Lamborghini Aventador’s trip to Rome

Lamborghini Aventador Commercial

Remember when that Lamborghini Aventador was spotted in California filming a commercial? Well, it’s been cut, edited, and had enough special effects put on top of it to rival Star Wars. The result, a perfectly over-the-top commercial for an equally ridiculous car. The one thing obviously absent compared to any other car commercial is any description of price, options, or specs. I guess if you don’t know, you better ask somebody, or check our article about Lamborghini’s new beast here. Although it may not sell any cars with attractive finance options, this commercial for the Lamborghini Aventador will have boys and men alike watching the video on YouTube again and again. Success!

Lamborghinis Racing Planes

(Source: Autoblog)

A group of Lamborghini owners in Saudi Arabia decided to test what’s faster, their cars or their planes. In an event that seems more like an excuse for a bunch of Lamborghini owners to go really fast on a runway, there was a track event along with a drag race versus a collection of Pipers and Cessnas. The video shows no real winner but that really wasn’t the point. It’s just fun to watch a whole pack of brightly colored Lamborghini’s rip through the desert racing planes.

P-51 Gallardo

No, P-51 is not a new rendition of the Gallardo; Instead it’s an insane paint job. A custom project done for the R&B artist Chris Brown, this Lamborghini was inspired by the P-51 Mustang, a WWII fighter Plane. Painting was done by Sean Burnley, which is a surprise because he mostly works on slammed pick-ups. Never the less, he did an amazing job. A mix of new and old, faux rivits are displayed on the sides and rear of the car while the top is a gloss black. The P-51 Gallardo is definitely love it or hate it. Even Burnley admitted saying ”I think it probably killed the value of the car.” I like the idea behind the car, but it seemed to have strayed off concept with the gloss black top. They should have just gone for it all the way, and finished the whole car in the metal/rivet look. Another thing is those blue rims, they don’t match the car at all. Unfortunately, the P-51 Lamborghini Gallardo is another case of good idea, poor execution.

Murcielago Photo Shoot in Madrid

(Source: GT Spirit)

Dutch photographer Thomas Van Rooij had the opportunity to do a very special photo shoot of the Lamborghini Murcielago in Madrid, Spain. Playing off of the Bull theme the shoot was done in a bullring resulting in some awesome pictures. This photo shoot  blurs the line between art and pictures of cars. If you want to see more pictures of the Murcielago photo shoot in Madrid, checkout Rooij’s Flickr here.
